Reading - Please read as much as possible during the time away from school. We recommend at least 20 minutes four times a week.

  • Create a book review for each book you read. Do this in the form of a poster.
  • Summarise each chapter you read in your little red book.
  • Predict what you think might happen after every chapter.
  • If there are words you don't understand when you read, find out what they mean by using a dictionary or google the word.
  • Make questions for a friend about what you have read.

History Project

Last week on Friday 8th May it was a really important day, It is a day called VE Day and it is the 75th anniversary of this day.

I want you to research and learn all about what makes this day so important in British History.

I have created a project all about VE Day. Your reading and writing tasks are linked to this Historical day too.

I hope you enjoy learning all about VE Day and please send me everything you do for it. I look forward to see everything you complete!

HALF TERM ACTIVITIES

DT Project

Welcome to Year 3!

Miss Painter & Miss Moore

Welcome to Year 3's page. Here we will keep you updated on what has been going on in Year 3 over the year. At the bottom of this page you will find documents and links that you may find handy to use with your child.

PE

Indoor PE kit consists of blue shorts, a yellow t-shirt and black pumps. For Outdoor PE lessons children will need a kit that will keep them sufficiently warm and dry so a tracksuit, trainers, clean socks and a lightweight waterproof jacket would be ideal.

PE kits should be in school every day but the days we have our lessons are:

Indoor PE: Monday

Outdoor PE: Wednesday

Earrings should not be worn for PE and hair should be tied back.

Swimming

The children will not be swimming this term.

Homework

We expect children:

  • to read at least four times each week - reading diaries will be checked on Fridays so that we can reward children who have read.
  • to practise their times tables on the Times Tables Rockstars app (we will provide paper copies for those who don't have an internet connection).
  • to learn their weekly spellings.
  • to complete a topic project.

Star of the Week, Writer of the Month and Mathematician of the Month

Each week Miss Painter and Miss Moore pick a 'Star of the Week' along with a fabulous half termly Mathematician, Writer, and Hand writer. Maths work and writing is on display in our achievement corridor.
